Process
My rebranding vision for the Asian Mental Health Collective (AMHC) was inspired by the tranquility and earthiness of zen gardens. The patterns made on dry zen gardens in which gravel or sand represents water was the inspiration of my final logo design. The zen concept focuses more on the AMHC’s approach to maintaining balance and peace in life, despite adversity by providing the Asian community with necessary help through therapy and resources.
Sketches
Many of my initial sketches were inspired by more traditional Asian motifs of balance, such as yin and yang and the original AMHC logo, a lotus flower. It was important that my rebranding of the collective retained a connection to Asian roots, while keeping the focus on positive balance and peace. I felt that the zen garden pattern captured this direction the best.
